Japan fund $35 billion support to India for the five years towards financing next generation infrastructure assignments, restoration of Ganga River, launch of bullet trains and further more.

Japanese financing will also be accessible for PPP projects in Indian for production, skill development, water, food handling and agriculture sector, farming cold chain and rural growth.

This said after interacting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe.

Shinzo Abe indicated his purpose to realise 3.5 trillion Yen (Rupees 210,000 cr, USD 35 billion) of public and private investment and funding from Japan, including ODA.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe promised loan of 50 billion yen to IIFCL for a public-private partnership infrastructure project in India.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his deep gratitude for Japan’s ongoing help for India’s economic growth and mentioned that “no country” other than Japan has done more for modernising India’s infrastructure.

At an average of $ 7 billion per year, would be the greatest from any country and Narendra Modi expressed appreciation to Shinzo Abe for this. “There is no limit to our co-operation. There is nothing lacking in our will. There is new enthusiasm and expectation,” Narendra Modi said, adding he had made the decision to put Japan in the “fast-track” channel.

Responding to the media jointly with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Narendra Modi said the economical help from Japan is not restricted to one sector. “Prime Minister Shinzo Abe understands my perspective and agreed to help,” he said.

Shinzo Abe also assured to help India construct top speed railway for the Ahmedabad – Mumbai route.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe conveyed his willingness to provide financial, technical and operational help to introduce Shinkansen system.

They look ahead to the conclusion of the Joint Feasibility Study on High Speed Railway system on Ahmedabad – Mumbai route.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “India`s success and growth is not only a big financial opportunity that will benefit both countries, but it will improve democracy worldwide and play a role to balance and success in our region and the world. A successful India and a successful Japan will be of benefit to both countries. Even more, the relationship will be a force of peace, stability and prosperity in Asia and the world.”

The Japanese introduced the launch of a feasibility study by the JICA of a project for establishing up of a 10 MW canal-top grid connected PV power plant in Gujarat as a design for next technology infrastructure.

Both portrayed their requirement for presenting Japanese technologies and expanding Japanese investment in MRTS with the probability of implementing the most suitable funding scheme. Both sides instructed the respective relevant authorities to start a feasibility study by Japan International Cooperation Agency on a prospective yen loan project for the Mass Rapid Transit Systems between Gurgaon and Bawal in Haryana.
